About: George Eliot Hospital - Acute Services

After being lifted during a dance performance I was dropped from a height, the next morning I came to A&E because I thought I had a scaffold injury as I had a lot of pain . The consultant gave me a very brief examination, he said 'your to young to have a break' I am 17 years old. I think this was a silly statement to be made from a doctor as I didn't realise there was an age limit to have a break. I felt he had a very rude attitude towards me.

Communication is a very important aspect of patient care and we are sorry that, on this occassion , your experience was so poor. Your comments have been forwarded to the Senior A&E team for information and discussion. If you would like to have this directly discussed with the clinician involved please will you contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 024 7686 5550 or by emailing: pals@geh.nhs.uk. I do hope that your dancing is not interuppted for too long. Regards Christine Longstaff Head of Patient Partnership
