About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford)

After having a bi lateral hip replacement surgery some 3 weeks ago my GP was concerned that i may have an infection in my leg. GP wanted urgent blood test to confirm. I offered to get someone to drive me in but GP told me on no account should I get in a car and he would arrange an ambulance. All this took place at 8pm. Amubulance arrive at 10.30pm and arrived at Wonford at 11pm. Put in a room and felt i was completely forgotten about. After 2 hours (1.30am) mentioned that i was still waiting. Blood test carried out, 2 hours later given all clear (3.30 am) and was told I could leave. Asked for an ambulance to take me home and was told no Ambulances would be available until 9am. I could stay in A&E until 9am if I wished. At which time I told them that I had no other option but to get a relative to pick me up. My GP tells me that i must take my heath more seriously, when i do Exeter Wonfords Hospital lets you down. If you have any other options other than using this Hospital i suggest you do.
