I woke up at 2 am with chest pains and called the emergency services. From the moment my wife dialled 999 I could not have had speedier treatment from the help from the man on the phone with his clear and concise instructions to my wife to the fast response by the paramedics who attended me at home.
I was taken to Victoria hospital in Kirkcaldy A and E where I was examined and it was decided I needed to go to the Royal infirmary in Edinburgh for specialist treatment. Another paramedic took over my care as I was rushed through to Edinburgh. My wife was allowed to accompany me in the ambulance.
On arriving in Edinburgh I was taken straight to theatre where I had a stent put in one of my arteries. All my care from start to finish was first class and I don't think it could be improved on. The nurses and doctors in both hospitals were kind and caring.
I have since had a visit at home from the coronary heart disease specialist nurse who gave my wife and myself excellent advice and help about my recovery and after care.
"My heart attack treatment was first class"
