"Left waiting in pain in a cubicle."

Long story, but this is just a snippet regarding a diagnosis that took thirteen days. I visited my own GP but they were on holiday, so I saw a locum who initially diagnosed constipation and prescribed suppositories, which I used to no effect. That evening I was in agonising pain, so I visited Skegness A&E. I was put in a cubicle for an hour and twenty minutes, after which, the doctor entered and said he was not going to examine me as there was nothing he could do and A&E was not for stomach upsets. I left mystified and still in a lot of pain. The truth is I had a diverticulitis and had a 5cm abscess in my colon. Eventually, after three calls to 111, I got someone to take me seriously after thirteen days of cruel pain and was admitted to Pilgrim Hospital via Skegness A&E as an urgent case, where I was treated extremely well. (I have already written my favourable report RE Pilgrim) My complaint is, that the original Skegness Doctor on the previous Monday who refused to examine me could have saved me several days of sheer agonising pain. I am not at all happy with the way they kept me waiting and the refusal to examine me, he would have found the lump in my abdomen if he had looked. I want him to be more careful and sympathetic as it was not just a tummy upset as he had assumed. He missed a serious diagnosis because he refused to look. David Potter 57 year old male.
