"Allow plenty time to TRY and park your car."

About: Calderdale Royal Hospital

Why are there parking ticket machines in the car park at the rear of the hospital when nobody except me appeared to be bothered paying. After walking across the car park not one vehicle except mine had a ticket on display. When my daughter used the same car park on Saturday she said the machine informed her the she did not have pay, the machine I used took my money quite happily. The sign at the machine I used says parking fees are payable between 8am and 8pm 7 days a week. Have I wasted £7.70 this weekend? Also whilst in the hospital the total shortage of public toilets is ridiculous, having had to go down to the ground floor to use the toilet only to find a 'not in use' sign on the gents with no alternative offered.

Thank you for your comments. It is difficult to respond fully without full knowledge of which car park and at what time you parked. We can, however, confirm that parking charges are effective from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm seven days a week. We would think you probably in the car park near the old main entrance, in which case whilst charges are in place, it is not necessary to display the ticket which would explain why you could not see them in other vehicles. We are sorry you had a disappointing experience, but hope we have helped to resolve your queries. With regard to the public toilet areas, our apologies that one was not in use at the time of your visit. We will pass on your comments regarding the shortage to the appropriate departments.
