"Car parking fee's for people with Cancer"

About: Derriford Hospital / Colorectal surgery

(as the patient),

Having been informed on this forum that Derriford do offer free parking for people with cancer, I can assure everyone that I was told wrongly about this matter.

I went for my appointment on the recently, to the car parking desk on level 6, with with the appointment letter, requesting a free parking pass.

I was informed in to uncertain terms that they did not do free parking but, reduced parking rate at £1. 20.

Would someone please sort this matter out, it's bad enough having cancer, let alone adding stress.

Good morning, Please be advised that unfortunately Derriford Hospital do not operate the parking system, this is actually under a separate contractor. I can clarify that having spoken to parking contractors this morning; I have been advised that the parking fee for patients attending the Oncology department is £1.20 per day. I am sorry to hear that you have suffered unnecessary stress regarding parking issues and hopefully this will clarify thing for you. With best wishes Genny
