My 2 year-old daughter was admitted with pneumonia 2 days ago. I was extremely impressed by the staff who cared for her during her 2 day admission: they were extremely kind & competent. The doctor (ST1) Chrissy, the staff nurses Michelle (bailey ward) & Fedalia (Ann Riches) & sister Laura (Ann Riches ward) were particularly good at communicating.
I do have one adverse comment. The temperature of Ann Riches ward was ridiculously high at 82 degrees farenheit throughout the night (this at a time when the temperature outside was close to freezing!). I understand that this is pretty typical on that ward & I recall it being a major problem when my daughter was admitted there last year. I understand that repeated requests for action to the hospital maintenance department have been made. It is clearly unnacceptable: it is impossible to cool a febrile child or to work efficiently in that level of heat.
