"Pilgrim a and e"

About: Pilgrim Hospital

The service is absolutely shocking at this hospital. Having rang the out of hours doctor because my boyfriend was in unbearable pain we was told to come to an appointment with the doctor at Pilgrim at 9.40. Baring the fact my boyfriend was in unbearable pain we arrived early and watched everyone go in one by one to find out that life doctor had rang the house for asking where we were! The receptionist had not booked us in even though we went to desk and told her we was here! 2 hours and still currently waiting to be seen. Surely the nhs should invest in new staff that can do a simple job properly!

Dear Anon

Please accept my sincere apologies that your boyfriend was not seen promptly by the Out of Hours GP service and had to wait an unreasonable length of time while he was in pain, due to an error by the Reception staff. I am happy to meet with you personally to discuss the changes and improvements that are currently happening in the Emergency Department. If you would like to meet, please contact our PALS team on 01205 446243 or email on PALS@ulh.nhs.uk

Yours sincerely
