"Colonoscopy"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

I had a colonoscopy at BRI, The staff were very good at making me feel relaxed about the whole procedure which was painless and comfortable. I had a few biopsies taken at the time and was told i would get a letter in the post for an appointment with a consultant to discuss my results. Unfortunately it has been 5 weeks now and i have had no appointment and no biopsy results, which is causing stress and anxiety wondering if everything is fine or not.

Thank you for leaving your comment on the NHS Choices website. It is great to hear that the staff made you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure. However, it is very disappointing to hear that no one has contacted you since when they promised they would. This is not the standard of care we expect, and I can appreciate it must be causing you a great deal of stress. I would like to try and support you to find out more about why this has happened. We have a Patient Advice and Liaison Service who will be happy to help you with any matter. They can be contacted on 01274 364021 at Bradford Royal Infirmary or 01274 365853 at St. Luke’s Hospital. The text phone number for deaf people is 01274 382580 at Bradford Royal Infirmary. You can also email pals@bthft.nhs.uk. Thank you
