About: University Hospital Lewisham

I am having severe back pain and been referred to physiotherapist. When I went in with my referral letter I was been told it will take upto two weeks to get an appointment and the senior physician will determine based on severity or seriousness of the pain. How is that possible when he even dint even spoke to me ? I'm been on pain killers and I felt being ignored since according to them it's not life threatening . But I'm in deep pain even the pain killers not helping and when they tax my pay this is not what they promise. Government promise to look after me when taxing me .

Thank you for your comment regarding your referral to physiotherapy. I am very sorry to learn that you are in significant pain and I hope that your physiotherapy will be helpful. All referrals that are received in the department are prioritised on the basis of the information provided by the referrer so that we can try and ensure that those patients that need an urgent appointment do so. We are constantly striving to reduce our waiting times for physiotherapy so that no one is waiting excessively for an appointment. We are also very happy to answer any queries regarding your referral or anything else relating to your physiotherapy treatment. If you do wish to speak with me please do not hesitate to contact me as detailed below.
