About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I was in the hospital Jan 2013. I received a number of x rays and scans. I was discharged 3 days later and told the only thing I had was a gall stone. I returned 6 weeks later expecting to be given an all clear. I met with a consultant I had not previously met who told me that everything was ok but he thought I had lung cancer. I left in a distressed state and through my own GP attended South Tyneside Hospital where I was told that I did definitely not have lung cancer. A serious of tests confirmed this. During the 2 week period I had to wait to see the consultant at South Tyneside I lost a stone in weight.
