About: Fairfield General Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

I accompanied my Mother to the Emergency Department in the early hours of Friday 7 November 2008. She suffers from dementia and is in residential care so I was woken up in order to accompany her. The Department was extremely busy for the middle of the night and so there was quite a wait for treatment. I would just like to extend my thanks to the Doctor who attended my Mother. His manner was both professional and friendly, which isn't easy to achieve in such difficult circumstances and I felt he made me as a relative feel at ease.

What could be improved

Thank you for your kind comments. Our A&E departments are under severe pressure due to the increase in patients with winter illnesses and we are sorry for the wait that you and your mother experienced.
