"Confused and disappointed "

About: Princess Alexandra Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

Had two appointments at for IVF pre-treatments and on both occasions, the consultant was not available to take my appointment. As such I have had two different registrars on each occasion, which has created a lack of consistency. The direct results of this is I have been given conflicting information which will now risk delaying my treatment further. I have tried to contact the consultant directly and in the end, gave a written account of my concerns via the secretary by email. I am still yet to hear back. I want to know the way forward as I am very confused and disappointed.

Dear KDMS2014,

I am really sorry to hear about the lack of continuity in your care and the confusion this has caused. I'd like to try and help resolve this. I wonder if you would be so kind as to call the patient experience team on 01279 827084. With your details to hand.

The objective being to dispel the anxiety and confusion straight away by connecting you up with the team who are responsible for your care. If we can't do this immediately and we will set a time for when that conversation can happen.
