"I would be very grateful if I could have more regular appointments"

(as the patient),

I thought the service I had was very good. The only complaint I had was the time I had to wait for another appointment.

I had an appointment in February and the one before was last June. I have a heart complaint, and I suffer with osteoarthritis and find it very difficult to reach my feet to cut my nails.

I would be very grateful if I could have more regular appointments.

We are pleased you found the Podiatry service very good.

Patients are encouraged to make their own appointments as the need arises, with guidance from clinicians.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment regarding your experience with the Podiatry Service. It is really important to us that our patients tell us about their experiences. I am pleased that you found the service to be very good, but you have also highlighted the important issue that the waiting times between your last appointments was too long and I am sorry for the extended waiting times you have experienced.

We are aware that due to the high demand for the service the length of time between your visits has increased to an unacceptable length of time and we are currently addressing this issue.

We do work with the commissioners of the service to appraise them of our waiting times and as a result we currently have some additional podiatrists on a temporary basis, which is bringing the waiting times down. We will also be discussing the plan for the longer term delivery of podiatry care with them, based on our staffing and the high levels of demand for the service.

The Podiatry Service does have a fast track system for all our patients with an urgent foot problem and if you do develop a problem in-between your routine appointments you can contact the Podiatry Administration Office to request an earlier appointment.
