"Superb from start to finish"

About: Wansbeck Hospital

I was unfortunate enough to take a tumble down the stairs resulting in a broken ankle. Whilst my first port of call was Alnwick Hospital it was to the Wansbeck fracture clinic that I went the following day for a proper assessment. From the patient assistance volunteer who got me a wheelchair at the front door after seeing me struggle on crutches to the appointments clerk through the Dr, Nurses, everyone in X Ray and finally the 2 ladies in the Casting Rooom (who deserve a special mention for their super service and fabulous personalities!) everyone went out of their way to help me and where so very friendly. I was in and out within 2 hours which I think is very good for 2 visits with the Dr, 3 X Rays and finally a cast on my ankle. The Dr apologised for keeping me waiting but at no point did I feel I was waiting any longer than was necessary given how busy the department was. A big thank you to everyone involved in my care and of course the trust for running such a superb Hospital I'm proud to have as my local :-)

Response from Wansbeck Hospital

Dear Jude, What a lovely message - thank you, you've made my day. It means the world to us to be able to provide high quality care to a local population that we are privileged to serve. Our staff do work incredibly hard and it was so thoughtful of you to notice the contribution they all made to your successful visit. We feel very grateful when patients take the time to give us feedback, good or bad, because we know that it plays such an important part in helping us improve care and also know what we are getting exactly right so that we can keep doing it !! I am so sorry that a tumble down the stairs brought you into hospital - I do hope your pain is manageable and that you are getting about ok ? With all best wishes and thanks again, Annie
