"Not good enough"

About: Glenfield Hospital

I was taken by ambulance to Glenfield Hospital after having chest pain I arrivied at 7.30pm. I was given a blood test and heart trace quite quickly, and told that I would need another blood test in 3 hours, meanwhile I would be seen by a Nurse then a Junior Doctor and finally a Senior Doctor. I sat in the waiting room along with a good number of patients in a similar situation. By 2.45 am the following morning I was still sitting there. In that time 5 people had gone home without seeing anyone because they had been waiting so long. At least 1 of these had done the same at least once before and had used an ambulance both times. How many of these people had potential heart problems and were not seen. I finally left at 3.15 A.M having received an apology and explanation from the Consultant on duty. More Senior Doctors are needed urgently here Nearly 8 hours wait is not acceptable

Dear reviewer, I'm reallyvery sorry that you experienced these delays at Glenfield Hospital. We would like the opportunity to learn from this experience and I would therefore be grateful if you could send me some additional details such as your full name, DOB, address, patient number (if known) and the date you visited our service. I would like to look into this for you to find out what was causing such a long wait and improve on this for the future. I look forward to hearing from you, Kind regards Jan Kovac Head of Service Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery and Thoracics Leicester's Hospitals
