Thank you for your comments. We are sorry that you had to experience this. We are trying to discourage smoking outside the entrance, we have recently put up big, new, eye catching posters, we have been encouraging staff to ask people politely not to smoke and we employ smoking officers to reinforce this. Unfortunately it is not yet against the law for people to smoke outside a hospital and we can only appeal to the better nature of the smokers at present. However we will be looking into what stronger action we can take in the very near future.
