"Staff are a credit to the hospital from start to..."

About: Queen Victoria Hospital (East Grinstead)

Had surgery and stayed on Margaret Duncombe Ward. Pros Staff were exceptional and that includes all the staff, if you asked for anything you didn't feel it was any trouble for them, they answered call bells promptly. In the 5 days I was an inpatient I was look after by the same staff so they got to know you and you them. They all appear to be enjoying their jobs always cheerful. It was also great that they gave you iced water, just a simple thing but made all the difference to me. Negatives Food is a real let down, you are asked 5-10mins before food is served, it would be nice to have menus for the day. One dish was on the menu 2 days running and sandwiches were at times soggy. You had to request sandwiches or salads and at times pudding. The only meal I really enjoyed was jacket potatoes. Patients families were even bringing food in. Other comments Would be nice to have wi-fi, days can feel very long. In the handbook behind my bed, it said a trolley selling sandwiches, snacks, drinks and newspapers visits wards five days a week. Never saw one. Great idea though and other patients agreed. All that said, I would recommend Queen Victoria Hospital to my friends/relatives
