"Waiting Times and Lack of Info"

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital

I recently attended the gastroenterology department for a CT Scan follow-up appointment. I had already received a letter from the consultant regarding the discovery of a small pancreatic cyst found during the CT Scan. My appointment was scheduled for 2:40pm, but I wasn't actually seen until 3:45pm. I was expecting to be given some detailed information about what a pancreatic cyst is, what the next steps were and how serious the condition is, none of this happened. The doctor I saw was not my consultant, it was one of the other doctors in the department (I wasn't given his name). No explanation of the CT Scan results were explained to me in any detail except for the need for an EUS Scan at Blackburn. I'm sure my consultant would have given me all the details had I been able to actually see him. I left feeling uninformed and disappointed with the service received.
