I would just like to give praise to all of the team on the Redwood ward. I had kidney surgery on Thursday 6th March and was in alot of pain after the procedure. I was taken to Redwood Ward and was put at ease as soon as we walked to the ward. Upon getting to the ward my pain increased and my morphine drip stopped working due to air blockage but the team were brilliant with me, got the machine working again and my pain was under control straight away, they made sure I was comfortable and assisted me in what ever way they could. They offered me food and drink upon arriving. They all made me feel very welcome to the ward and always had a smile on their faces for us even when dealing with very difficult patients, nothing was ever too much trouble for them they just got on and dealt with the situation still with a smile on their faces. When doing the medicine rounds they would always ask us how we was feeling and if there was anything we needed and told us what they were given us for medication. My medication was always on time, we was told the situation with the doctors along with any test results plus my discharge was a smooth quick process. I will be returning to Redwood ward for another operation in a few months and I feel at ease knowing my recovery will be cared for by this brilliant hard working team. Big thumbs up from me and I hope they receive some sort of credit for this message of praise. A team that works well like theirs is what all hospitals need. They have good communication with each other aswell as with their superiors, good patient communication listening to what the patient says and needs. They were all friendly and treated us like people instead of just another number patient coming in. So I would just like to say thank you ;-)
