"Skylark Ward"

About: Kettering General Hospital

All the nursing Staff on the Skylark ward have been amazing. My baby boy was admitted with a broken hip and we are a week in to a 2 week stay. All the staff have been so kind and caring while he his in there care. Everyone from the ward sister to the play team staff has took the time out to get to know my little boy and his needs. They have all taken there time to get to know him so he his comfortable in there care. All the nursing staff have been brilliant but I would like to especially thank one for the time and effort she has put in not only with my little boy but me and my partner too. She is always there to reassure us and explain things in further details so we are aware of what is happening. She is also great at making things happen like consultants appearing, x-rays, bed changes etc. The playtime have been invaluable to us during our stay they have made the long days go quicker keeping my baby entertained with music therapy, play therapy and the dogs have been his favourite so far. They have not only been great with my baby but also brilliant with my other two children who were upset to see there brother in so much distress. Louise got pictures of babies in traction to show my eldest son what his brother was going through and explained the process in such detail that he was reassured his brother would be ok. I would like all the Staff at the Skylark Ward to know how truly grateful I am for all there help during our long stay at the ward. Thank you so much.

It has always been our intention to provide the best service possible and to hear about your successful stay means that we are definitely on the right track. Our team are all committed to working well together to cover all aspects of care and this includes ensuring that parents and siblings receive as much time and care as the patient. I will pass your comments to both the nursing staff and the Play Team who I know will be thrilled to hear how much you appreciated their hard work. Wishing your son a speedy recovery. Skylark Ward
