"Good care but understaffed at St James"

About: St James's University Hospital / Diabetic medicine

(as the patient),

I was rushed to St James hospital for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis. I had been vomiting for 2 weeks prior to going into hospital and had lost nearly 2 stone.

The care I received was very good and I was feeling better in a couple of days.

The nurses were understaffed - they were always very busy and didn't really seem to have enough time to look after all of the patients on the ward.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences at St James's Hospital. I am glad to hear that the care you received was good and that you are now feeling better.

I shall pass your comments, and concerns about staffing levels, onto the Patient Relations Manager at the hospital
