"very caring midwives"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

I decided to have my second child at LRI after recommendations from others and a frightful experience at LGH with my first. I ended up not getting there on time and giving birth in the reception but the midwives were lovely and came running down as soon as they could. From there till I left I was checked on every few hours and asked if I needed anything. I was in a lot of pain after birth but was weary of telling them thinking they might think im making a big deal but they were understanding and looked after me well. I was there for less than a day but was very satisfied.

Dear reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're sorry that your first experience at LGH wasn't as good as you hoped, but are very happy that the second time round at LRI was very good. We have a great maternity team at both sites who are ready to deal with all situations... including a birth in the reception! We have passed your comments onto the senior midwife at the Royal to share with the team. Wishing you and your family all the best, Communications Team Leicester's Hospitals
