BGH's processes are atrocious! After having an op my husband was dismissed from Recovery Unit on the same day because he was fit and there weren't any beds. Received a call 4 days later asking where my husband was; was he still in the hospital as they had lost his discharge papers! Discharged without correct brace (for dislocated shoulder) because it needed to be ordered and still 10 days later waiting; according to staff it has been ordered by 3 different people and not 1 of them has turned up! What type of service is that? Why are we waiting hours on end for appointments? Why have we got a great looking hospital but with abominable systems? Communication very poor; zero in fact; you can sit for hours without staff realising you're even there! When someone does talk to you they are difficult to understand as their English isn't great. What have the NHS come to? I have put as department: Don't know as we have experienced A & E, surgery, HDU and Recovery, all of which are below any standard.
