"Outstanding Care in Kingswood Ward"

At a very difficult time for the family we were impressed by the care given to my mother. The ward was clean and bright, staffing levels were good and access to doctors was easy. The check list of really important essentials was regularly reviewed . For example checking drink and the call button were within easy reach and a log was kept of food consumed. Help with feeding was also given. Importantly doctors and nurses also initiated contact by phone if they felt it was necessary. Staff were exceptionally caring, polite and respectful to both my mother and the family. We were in the ward for the last week of my mothers life and the care was all we could have hoped for. Thank you.

We are touched that during this period of grief you have taken the time to recognise the care and kindness afforded to her. It is always pleasing to receive comments from relatives about the treatment their loved ones have received at Basildon Hospital. The staff here do a difficult job with skill and professionalism and comments such as yours will be a great boost to morale. We will ensure that all staff involved in your mother’s treatment are made aware of your kind comments.
