"Follicular Thyroid Nodule"

Having found a lump in my neck late October 2013 I was eventually referred to the Endocrinology department mid December. Following a fine needle aspiration surgery was recommended to determine if my follicular thyroid nodule was malignant. I underwent a hemithryoidectomy late January 2014 and received confirmation of a follicular carcinoma a few weeks later. I am incredibly fortunate that due to the early stages of the cancer no further treatment was required. It was an extremely difficult time for me throughout, however the quality of the treatment and care I received at Salisbury made the experience infinitely more tolerable. The surgeon and her colleagues are overwhelmingly competent yet manage to combine this with friendly, factual and honest advice from beginning to end. If you are going through a similar experience then please be assured that you could not be in better hands. Thanks to their skill and expertise I have come away with nothing more than a small scar... and the rest of my life to live. Thank you.
