"Fantastic treatment at Thornbury hospital"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Gastroenterology Thornbury Hospital (Bristol)

(as the patient),

Having been suffering with gall stone attacks I was told I needed my gall bladder removed. Unfortunately, due to my weight problem, Rotherham couldn't do it. I was told if I had stomach surgery they would remove it at the same time.

I was given an appointment to see Mr Ackroyd at the Royal Hallamshire and he agreed to fit a gastric band. I was told that I would be having my operation done at the Hallamshire, but in September 2007 I received a letter telling me I would be going to the Thornbury hospital.

The best bits were the waiting to have it done. I had my first appointment with Mr Ackroyd in May 2007 and I had my operation on the 2nd October 2007.

The worst bit was the pain and sickness I felt afterwards, but this was swiftly dealt with.

I don't think anything needs changing, as everything they did for me was fantastic.
