"Kind staff at DRI Audiology"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

I had noticed problems with my hearing and so I made an appointment with the nurse at my GP surgery, who told me that the hearing test showed I would need to be seen by an audiologist.

An appointment was made at the Doncaster Royal Infirmary Audiology dept. I was treated very kindly and given reassurance. The audiologist explained all procedures fully before the hearing test began. Following the test, I was told that I would benefit from 2 hearing aids. I was very surprised, but my concerns and questions were answered and I have to return shortly to have the hearing aids fitted.

Although I am apprehensive, I am not unduly worried. I am confident I will not be rushed and will be treated and encouraged until I feel capable and confident to become familiar with this latest development regarding my hearing loss.

During waiting time in the Outpatients Audiology Clinic, I was able to talk with other patients. Some had been receiving ongoing help and care for many years and each one told of the kind and sensitive way with which they had been treated. My expectations are that I will receive the same high standard of care.
