I thought the staff (both nurses and doctors) at the Nottingham City hospital were excellent - absolutely no complaints at all.
The food, however, was awful. From burnt cold toast in the morning to flavourless cold lunch and tea. A complete lack of fresh fruit and salad. To get better you need good food!
In addition, although the room was cleaned daily, the standard of cleanliness was poor, with corners and areas behind doors left untouched. A thorough clean was needed!
