"I was treated with the utmost ..."

About: St George's Hospital (Tooting) (London)

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was treated with the utmost dignity, care and respect and could have hoped for a better experience whilst staying in the McKessick ward for my operation. The ward was thoroughly clean and hygenic. The nursing and domestic staff were polite, helpful and respectful and made my stay easier than I could ever have imagined. Words cannot express how relieved and grateful I am to the nursing staff who were so kind and caring. They work extremely hard, long hours yet you could not tell the difference between a nurse that had either just started or was about to finish their shift. The food was always served hot and I was offered hot drinks regularly, myself and other patients were even offered hot chocolate before bedtime!

Due to the nature of the surgery I had had I was unable to walk or stand unaided and therefore had to be showered by a nurse. Before my stay the thought of this would have horrified me but yet the nurses were able to assist in such a dignified and repectful way I was not concious nor embarassed in any way.

The staff on this ward truely are a credit to the NHS and I would like to thank them all for making my stay as pleasant and comfortable as it could have possibly been. Thank you.

What could be improved

Would struggle to fault on any level.
