"An amazing hospital"

About: The Princess Royal Hospital (Telford)

I was admitted to the stroke ward from a and e and the care I received was the best I could have asked for. The staff are happy in their work, very caring, work as a team and so efficient. This ward 16 should teach other hospitals how to be caring and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble. Hopefully I will not be going back but if I ever did then I know I will receive the best care I could. I come a long way as Shrewsbury Hospital has stopped taking stroke patients but even if they re opened it I would still ask to go to this hospital. Thank you for looking after me, and that is to everyone from the consultants right down to the cleaners.

It is particularly reassuring to hear that you were so happy with the care and the team on Ward 16, particularly as previously you would have attended the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. I was on Ward 16 myself on Monday, so this was a great opportunity to hear from patients, relatives and staff about how the service is operating. We have received some really useful feedback about the additional pastoral care we could provide for families who may now have to travel further so do let me know if you have any suggestions yourself. I will also make sure that your kind words are shared with the team on Ward 16. The comments we receive via NHS Choices - positive and negative - are written onto comment cards to share with the teams concerned so that they can learn from the experiences of the patients we are here to serve. I will aim to ensure that your words of thanks are shared first with the cleaners, as sometimes their vital role does not necessarily get noticed and it is lovely that you gave them special mention.
