My Grandma is receiving palliative care at Morpeth Cottage Hospital and my family could not be more happy with the care being provided at this awful time. We are so grateful to all the staff who are not only caring for the patient but also looking after the family too. We have not been in this hospital before and the contrast between this hospital and another hospital in the area is unbelievable. The hospital is spotless and the rooms are well-equipped. The parking is free !! The staff are offering refreshments where possible to help support family members staying overnight. A spare bed and reclining chair have been provided with blankets and pillows. More importantly though my Grandma is receiving the very best end of life care and every effort is being made to keep her comfortable and peaceful. Family members are also being offered emotional support when necessary with plenty of explanations and involvement in her care. We feel very lucky that Grandma was transferred to this hospital - the staff are all wonderful.
"Fantastic care"
