"Waiting for a scan"

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

i was currently 15wks pregnant and started experiencing some bleeding i therefore went up to dewsbury accident and emergency, i was asked to sit on a wheelchair in front of the nurses station because there was no vacant rooms.

There was doctors all around but while i was watching it was the same 3people doing all the work,i was then moved into a room where an elderly person was an told that somebody would come and change the bed 15 minutes later this still hadn't happened.

A nurse came took my bloods then 10mins after a doctor came felt my belly and told me not to worry go home rest up and the district nurse on ward one would give me a ring before ten the next morning for an emergency scan.

I waited and waited nobody rang i eventually rang them to be told to be patient and wait somebody will be in touch so i waited a further 2 hrs then rung back still no joy.

Eventually at 1.55pm somebody rung me and told me to be there for quarter to four.

ME n my partner went waited and then come the bad news my baby had died 3wks prior.......

i suggest anybody who is pregnant and bleeding demands a scan before leaving then they don't go through what me and my partner are now.
