"Stayed on ward 4 after a liver resection for 4..."

Before the actual treatment itself, the initial appointment with the doctor was quick and effectively organised, then the pre-op stuff was also well managed, all on the same day, which was good for me comingfrom North Wales. The Hospital Hotel facility is excellent at Aintree Lodge on the site as I needed to be in the theatre waiting area for 7.30am. All the care pre theatre, in recovery and then ward 4 was really good. I also liked the enhanced recovery programme, and the pain management processes which meant I was home in 3.5 days after the op, having suffered no pain! Well, ok, just a bit when I moved in and out of bed or coughed. The approach of the staff and the other two patients in my bay on ward 4 was uplifting.
