This story has been posted by Healthwatch Tameside on behalf of a member of the public who asked not to have their name published. They said…
This man is on a high dose of warfarin due to previous DVTs and now has leg ulcers which can bleed heavily. He was admitted to A & E at Tameside Hospital but had to stay in hospital on bedrest as they did not have the compression bandages nor anybody who could apply them. He and his wife are both very disappointed, and worried that if his ulcers bleed again the same problem may occur. They both felt that there was no information given to them or anybody who knew what to do during his recent admission.
