When visiting my wife on the ward I noticed a lot of the paintings on the corridor walls and on Cherry ward are in my opinion inappropriate to patients with this type of illness. To many people who are fit and well the pictures are just hidious and would fit in better at the comtempory art centre. Realistic paintings of the country side, Yachts in the habour, even apples on a plate would be the sort of pictures which I think patients could appreciate. I am hoping my request can be seriously considered. I know that at least 2 members of staff are totally in agreement in criticising the paintings. I would be pleased if you can keep me in the picture with progress.

Thank you for sharing you thoughts on the pictures on the walls of Cherry Ward. We thought the best way forward was to ask the patients at the next patients meeting on te 19th March for their views and preferences and then take things from there.

I thought I would just feedback to you some of the thoughts from the patients meeting re the paintings on the ward. By and large the ladies like most of the paintings but not all the same ones! It was agreed that tastes differ and where people don't like something it can act as a source of discussion and conversation.

when I have an opportunity to speak to Highbury Healthcare who look after our ward environment, I'll see if any changes are possible.

Please feel free to attend our patient meetings or speak to myself and the ward team if you have any further ideas or suggestions.
