"Birth of my baby boy"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I went into labour unexpectedly 6 days early on valentines day.

I went into hospital at 8:30am and was examined and found to be 6-7 dialated. I was given excellent treatment during my labour by the midwives and student midwives and to help relieve the pain I was offered a bath and gas and air. I gave birth to my son at 12:40. All the staff involved in the labour and birth were brilliant and I can't thank them enough.

Following the birth, all of the staff that attended to me were also brilliant. We opted to stay the night and my partner was allowed to stay.

Our son is now 19 days old and is a little bundle of joy. I would like to thank all of the staff for helping me to bring him in to the world.

Dear ‘KSCTCMNEM’,

Firstly, many congratulations on the birth of your son and thank you for taking the time to share your experience of visiting the Maternity Centre and University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

We strive to ensure that the women and babies in our care received all the support and attention they need. It’s so lovely to hear that you are enjoying motherhood.

I will share your kind words with the rest of the team who I’m sure will be as delighted as I am to receive them.

Best wishes,

Karen Meadowcroft, Head of Midwifery
