"Pharmacy services Rotherham "

About: Rotherham Hospital

(as a parent/guardian),

Had fantastic service from a&e, children's ward and ophthalmology only to be severely let down by pharmacy services. Discharged at 10am. 4. 35 pm and still waiting for a prescription from pharmacy before we can leave.

6 and a half hours so far and still occupying a bed on the ward whilst we wait. The automated service, a showpiece example of technology, must surely be on the blink.

Has our wait cost another days bed? It's certainly cost a meal from patient services and much frustration. Totally ridiculous.

Dear Lilac farm 4, thank you for your post on Patient Opinion. We really appreciate your feedback and it is great to hear that you felt the service from A&E, the Children’s Ward and Ophthalmology was fantastic. However we are sorry to hear of your delay in going home due to waiting for a prescription from Pharmacy and agree that this is not acceptable.

Your feedback has been shared with the Deputy Chief Nurse at the Trust, who will feed this back to the Clinical Director of Pharmacy to investigate this further to reduce the instances of such delays.

Should you wish to discuss this further, please contact Anne Crompton, Deputy Chief Nurse at TRFT on 01709 427096.

With best wishes,

Kerry
