"Most of staff were great and meals ..."

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Most of staff were great and meals not as bad as I thought it would be - plus I lost weight (added bonus as I'm with a diet group!).

When you rang came as quick as they could even though obviously rushed off their feet & running around like headless chickens at times!

What could be improved

Car Park. I appreciate you say you try to get us to try 'other modes of transport', but I live on edge of Sheffield. Buses would take me 2 hours (if lucky) or bus and tram - longer. We had to come by car, as I was in alot of pain at the time & went via GP section in hospital. Plus we have a young child - so buses aren't practical in our case! Neither is trying to get a child out of the car when parked - never mind yourself, as the spaces are so narrow!

So, car is the only option to us - even for day appointments I am not going to drag my child on a 4 hr bus journey then to wait in hospital for few hours (we don't have anyone to babysit - so we have to take them with us!). By car it takes 25- 55 minutes!

PLEASE try to make access better - there has to be a better way than going all the way around the front door (which I appreciate is so you can drop off people - you could still have this), but as it stands the parking is hell & on the day I was admitted I felt horrendous as it took 30 minutes to get around the place!
