my mother went to the GP who referred her to a&e she was seen quiet quickly by the doctor. Blood test were taken and she had a CT scan. after nearly 4 hours in the department two nurses came and stated my mum would be doing to the ward. there was a patient in the corridor so it felt like we were just taking up space. the doctor in a&e never updated us of the test results or the plan for my mum to be admitted. Very poor communications skills. I gave them a list of medication when the doctor wrote the drug chart the timings were wrong and the epilepsy medication dose was wrong. even on the discharge letter it was still wrong. We had to wait a few hours to get my mother medication despite me bring them in from home. so all they had to do was check them and give them back to us. one medication was not given back to us. just as well I only gave them one strip of tablets. the discharge letter was wrong it stated that my mum has diabetics and heart disease previously. this is the first time we heard of this. I think this is wrong, inaccurate should not be put no discharge summaries this data should be amended. so now every time my mum is admitted to hospital she will have her blood sugars checked despite it being unnecessary. the doctors and nurses a&e and the ward fail to listen. my mum has been inpatient on previous occasions and we felt the service was generally good. but on this occasion it was poor.
"poor service"
