"Mother in this hospital with a Brain tumour"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

My mother is currently undergoing treatment at Royal Hallamshire, Sheffield on ward P3. My mother has a Brain tumour which is lymphoma. The treatment and care my mother is receiving at this hospital is dreadful. On a number of occasions when visiting my mother I have found her medication all over the floor and all in her bed, this medication is paramount to her recovery and it's not even being monitored to ensure she can take her tablets. The staff can't even log how much fluid my mother is drinking. All they do is take the patients word for it, however the problem being a patient with a brain tumour isn't fully aware of her surroundings, timings, days, or what she had for breakfast. My mother has also been left to soil herself and then walk around the ward naked after trying to clean herself. My mother is am I dependant 67 year old lady and to have her dignity taken away from her due to the lack care is appalling. Regards Steven cottam

Dear Mr Cottam Thank you for giving us your feedback on your mother's care on P3 at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. I am sorry that you were unhappy with a number of areas and I believe Matron has been to see you to try and sort these out. If there is anything further you would like to discuss please do raise this with senior staff on the ward or contact the Patient Services Team on 0114 271 2400
