"Hospital standards"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

On visiting my son after an operation on surgical ward Prembrook I must say I was so disgusted at the hygiene and standards of health and safety. Beds were unmade cutlery on the floor that was still there when he left the next evening. When we went to visit the following day we were there when the evening meal was taken around to the patients and I must say poorly meals don't even come close. My son was completely missed for his meal and my husband had to go to the kitchen to get my son something to eat . To top this visit my son's bed was not working so he hat to lay flat after having respiratory problems. I'm not sure that the standards can help with the recovery process . Please bring the matron back.

I am sorry to hear that the impression of Pembroke Ward's standards of cleanliness and hygiene were poor. Please feel free to contact the matron for surgery who would very much like to discuss the circumstances around your complaints. It would be invaluable to get real time feedback about these issues.
