. My recent experience at NHS Basildon A&E was a very good one. On Tuesday the 25th of February I was seen to shortly after my arrival in the A&E (due to chest pains). After some tests I was told I would be admitted in the hospital for further checks (even though I would have preferred to have gone home). I was introduced to a Sister (Nurse) who made me feel welcome and said I would be going to her ward. The feeling I had, was, "you don' t have anything to worry about, you'll be in good hands". The confidence she transmitted, made me feel welcome and safe. I felt that I was given special attention and treatment initially, but yet after being in the ward several days, all the patients in the ward arriving or already there, were treated no differently. After my second day in the ward, I really felt that the staff of nurses were really on the ball and everything was done in precision. I made this statement to a nurse and she said if I felt this way, I should let the hospital know. She was right, we often forget that we the patients go home after a few days, but the staff live a tense environment every single day and we fail to appreciate the work they do. The professionalism, positive attitude and hard work that the staff did, in a ward where people are suffering from heart problems, portrayed an exemplary example of team spirit and dedication to their work. Being a Director of a global corporation having good staff, working together and transmitting a message of confidence to patients and then delivering, is no simple task. This is accomplished by someone who is a good leader and manages by example, someone who expects nothing less....I saw this not only in oe person but in many. I would like to thank Sister (Nurse), the Ward Manager and her staff for making my few days a comfortable experience. My results were good, the chest pains was caused by mere indigestion and not a heart attack. But for those patients I met in the ward during my stay and who are suffering from heart problems, they seemed to feel the same way as I did with the team spirit of the staff. We all need to say, thank you, and this is my part!
"Thank you."
