My knee had swollen very badly and was acutely painful. My husband managed to lift me on to the toilet but I could not get up from there. My husband rang the doctor and was advised to call the 111 service.
Two young girls came in an ambulance and managed to get me off the toilet and onto a chair and then carried me downstairs and into the ambulance. I was taken to Guy’s Hospital and admitted for further examination and treatment.
Both the ambulance service and the hospital were wonderful, I was very well looked after, made as comfortable as they could with my knee.
