"I accompanied my friend who had ..."

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

I accompanied my friend who had suffered a fall and broken her nose. I was pleased that the ambulance arrived very promptly and that the care from the paramedics was efficient and businesslike.

What could be improved

During our three hour wait, my friend's nose bled rather copiously. I should have liked somewhere other than litter bins to dispose of the many soiled tissues (which I obtained from the public toilet). Some bin dedicated to blood soaked tissues would have been useful.

The only possibility for refreshment during our wait was a fizzy drink machine. I should have been more grateful for a tea/coffee/hot chocolate machine.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback.

With regards to a hot drinks machine, due to space it is not possible to accomodate one and the HVS shop is very close by where patients can purchase hot drinks. A clinical bin is provided in the main waiting room with a sign on the lid stating is purpose.
