"Despite the pressure in whcih ..."

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

What I liked

Despite the pressure in whcih they were required to work, the medical and reception staff in A&E were professional and courteous for all the time I was there with my son.

Anything else?

Increased resources to reduce the waiting time for patients (stated on the board behind the reception desk as being 4 hours) and to reduce the stress on staff.

Thank you for feeding back your comments about our A&E Department. All our staff from the doctors and nurses to the reception team work hard to deliver the best possible service to patients and relatives. It is good to know that despite working under pressure our staff give a courteous and professional impression. Your comments will be passed on to the staff and the manager.

We are sorry that you had to wait longer than you wished to. We are constantly trying to reduce the time patients have to wait to be seen in A&E. We aim to improve the patient’s journey by further development of Nurse Triage (initial assessment) for all patients on arrival to the Emergency Department. Work is ongoing to make the A&E department run as efficiently as possible and we constantly monitor our attendance to try to make sure that our staffing matches patient demand.
