"Waiting & waiting!"

About: Leicester General Hospital

In the past I have been in hospital on several occasions for kidney stones & a cancerous kidney tumer partial right nafrectomy . My experience of Leicester General in the past has been exelent in every area of care . But unfortunately I feel very let down by the nhs I've been waiting for 5 months for a hysterectomy due to many many years of suffering reoccurring overian cysts, bulky fibroids & very heavy periods & abdomen pain all through the month I've been in hospital twice in the last 2 months, the first time for severe abdominal pain uterus infection & exactly the same thing second time although to start with I was sent to urology again for kidneys but I told them it was gyne & they agreed but gyne doctor said I had gastro enteritis which is a joke just waisting nhs money instead of getting me sorted out & I'm still waiting with no date in sight. The consultant I saw last year was very nice made me feel confident about having major surgery yet again, but now I've been told that it won't even be him now doing the opp ! I saw the anesthetist last year as well as I'm extremely difficult to canulate & take blood from & that's it been waiting for the post man every day for the last 5 months! Regards from a very worried in pain patient Mrs Clayton

Dear Mrs Clayton, We are really sorry to hear about your experience and that you have waited such a long time for an appointment. It is difficult for me to put you in touch with the right person without further personal details about you so get someone in my team to check your notes, so may I ask that you email me at Rachelle.Bowden@uhl-tr.nhs.uk so I can investigate this for you as soon as possible. Kind regards Rachelle Bowden Matron for Gynaecology Leicester’s Hospitals
