"Wlecome to the brave new world of the NHS"

About: Ellesmere Port Hospital

My fiancee went for an x ray today on her back after being referred as an emergency by her GP. They refused to do it on the grounds that she had had an xray on the same area four weeks ago and there would be no change to her condition and also that she would get too much radiation in the space of four weeks (even though they gave her a chest x ray!) This 'diagnosis' was made with no examination and after consulting her line manager without them even meeting the patient. So radiologists know better than doctors now and given that my fiancee has myeloma, I hope for their sake that this bad back is not the start of something more serious.

Dear Sir We are sorry you feel your fiancee had a negative experience. We take all patient feedback very seriously and therefore we will use your comments to see what happened on this occasion. It would be helpful if your fiancee could contact the PALs Department on Freephone 0800 195 1241 and select option 2 or email cochpals@nhs.net to give us more information about her experience. This will also give us the opportunity to feedback to her personally regarding any improvements we have made as a result of your comments. The Patient Experience Team
