About: Community Nursing Services / Ashfield Community Nursing

(as a relative),

When my dad took a turn for the worse I knew who to call, and sure enough she came and arranged everything with Red Cross the GP and us. My dad died a few days later and because we were all prepared we were there and dad passes in calmness and surrounded by loved ones. I am very thankful for all that was done and I also know it was a lot of work that was made to look well organised.

Thank you for sharing your story at this very sad time for you and your family. It is extremely rewarding for the team to know that you as a family were so well supported to look after your dad, in his final days at home. You highlight the impotance of good team work working with the GP and Red Cross and it is evident that the District Nurse was key to managing care co-ordination as well as providing care with compassion and empathy.

With best wishes to you and your family.
