One Sunday in December I collapsed in church where 7 ladies laid me out in the aisle and called for an ambulance.
A Paramedic arrived first and examined me, an ambulance arrived shortly afterwards and, because they had more equipment in the ambulance they moved me to the ambulance to carry out more checks.
The Ambulance crew wanted to take me to hospital but I promised I would go and stay with my daughter who is a qualified nurse and captain in the Queen Alexandra Corps. They said this would be OK if I also promised to go and see my GP the following day, which I did.
The attention and support I received from the paramedic and the ambulance people could not have been bettered. They were absolutely first class, extremely positive and caring. I am 89 years old and was looked after perfectly.
"Paramedics were absolutely first class"
